In this episode, Chris, a third grade teacher in Philadelphia, talks about a math lesson early in his career, telling his class let's rock, going around the room to help one student see a problem a different way, and watching the light bulb go off. The next day a different student drew him a picture of himself at the board, captioned let's rock, and it became a phrase he still catches himself repeating years later.
He also talks about DoorDashing in the summers to help pay for classes that move him up the salary scale, and about realizing, driving his family around in a car with over 150,000 miles on it, that the good old days are not something you look back on later, they are the ones you are already living, Pokemon cards and all.
